Jeonju ; Just a few steps away from the bustling hanok streets, a quieter world seemed to be waiting.
The traditional Korean gate, standing quietly at the entrance, once again heightened the anticipation of the walk ahead.Leaving the busy streets behind, I wandered into the quieter side lanes, where the simple pleasure of walking slowly began to unfold.The cat seemed to be enjoying its stroll through the ancient city as much as I was, and I couldn’t resist raising my camera.From the pavilion on the hill, a refreshing breeze swept through the open space. For a moment, I simply stood there, enjoying the quiet rhythm of the city below.(Omokdae Pavilion)Though it seemed somewhat out of place in the ancient city, the church appeared to be a favorite stop for many visitors.(Jeondong Catholic Cathedral)(Gyeonggijeon Shrine)With its many historic sites and quiet corners to discover, this is a city that never seems to tire the traveler.Finding Korea’s oldest surviving coffeehouse was a delightful surprise. Perhaps it is these unexpected encounters that make Jeonju linger in the traveler’s memory long after the walk is over.
